Stronger Together – Public Sector Enterprise Agreement 2022 - Update 3

12 August 2022

Public Sector 2022 Enterprise Agreement negotiations have hit a hurdle.

A planned bargaining session between the ANMF (SA Branch) and representatives from the Attorney-General’s Department (as your delegated employer), the Department for Health and Wellbeing and the Department of Human Services was cancelled this week– it is the second occasion in recent weeks the DHW has failed to be ready to attend scheduled meetings.

We are disappointed that planned negotiations were again cancelled a day before we were scheduled to meet. Our expectation is that everyone around the table is engaging with a purpose towards achieving an early and positive outcome from the negotiations.

We are already behind the target timeframes agreed at the commencement of negotiations.

The DHW had previously been asked to schedule regular meetings with the people needed to approve positions ahead of negotiations to ensure that they were prepared. They have clearly failed to do so.

We have made clear to employer representatives that if these delays continue then we will be approaching our members and inviting you to consider action. The current Enterprise Agreement has now expired and there is a real urgency around getting agreement between the parties.

Negotiations are set to recommence next week and we will continue to advocate to ensure an agreement can be reached as soon as possible.
