Rethink your summer plans – training opportunity available with ANMEC

10 October 2022

Some people travel overseas for a white Christmas, others make the beach their second home while there is the temptation to flick on the air conditioner, curl up on the couch and binge-watch TV programs.

If none of these options are appealing this summer, then ANMEC may have an alternative for you!

Our award-winning education provider is offering its Certificate III Individual Support qualification between December and February next year.

ANMEC Course Manager Kylie Cakau said the nine-week qualification would be a blend of both online and face-to-face learning as well as a three-week work placement.

“This qualification will give you the tools to step into the health sector straight from school, or assist you to gain employment whilst you are furthering your academic studies,” Ms Cakau said.

“The summer school concept is one we often associate with the United States but there is no reason why Australians should miss out on an opportunity to further their skills and experiences at this time of the year.”

ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM said the timing of the course highlighted ANMEC’s ability to cater for people of varying needs.

“While summer can be a quiet time for some providers, ANMEC will be continuing its commitment to providing quality education for students,” Ms Dabars said.

“It has a mission to ensure that the aged, community and disability workforce has the knowledge and skills to provide that support.

“There are currently job vacancies in these areas and this is an opportunity for students to expand their learning journey, fast-track their employment options and gain an edge on their peers.”
