National Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II Thursday 22 September 2022 Public Holiday (PH) Information

Clause 6.3 of the Nurses AWARD (2002): 

  • Permanent employees working a 7-day roster, who are rostered off on the PH receive an extra day’s pay (maximum 7.6 hours at base rate). 
  • Those on a programmed day off (not Rostered Day Off) should be given an alternative programmed day off as soon as practicable after the PH. 
  • Permanent employees who work the PH shift are paid at 250%, Casual employees who work the PH shift are paid 175%. 
  • If commencing a nightshift on a PH, then the shift is not paid at PH rates. 
  • If commencing a nightshift preceding the PH, then the shift is paid at  PH rates.
