We stand in solidarity with our ambos

The ANMF (SA Branch) stands in solidarity with the Ambulance Employees’ Association (AEA) in its fight for more funding to end ramping.

Yesterday 44,000 hand-written signatures were tabled in Parliament by Labor Leader Peter Malinauskas, the result of an AEA petition calling for an end to ramping and greater funding for more ambos.

ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM joined Leah Watkins and Josh Karpowicz from the AEA, pictured, outside the steps of Parliament House yesterday during the campaign for more ambulance funding.

“South Australia has seen unprecedented and dangerous levels of ramping this year – just another example of a health system in crisis,’’ Ms Dabars said.

“Increased staffing and resources for our ambos will help alleviate the strain on the hospital system, reduce waiting times for treatment and expedite patient flow through the system.

“It will also free up more ambulances for the community, meaning faster response times to emergency callouts, which can literally be the difference between life and death.’’
