Salvos helping to keep SA affordable

25 May 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has completely altered the economic and social landscape for millions of Australians, unleashing hardship on an unprecedented scale.

The Salvation Army is aware that COVID-19 has affected everyone in South Australia either due to isolation, stress or financial impact.

The Salvation Army, with the support of the State Government, has created Affordable SA, a service providing a range of information, practical tips and tools to help households manage affordability issues.

Affordable SA is accessible through the Salvation Army’s web page, app and helpline and provides information and easy access to many services in areas relating to housing, homelessness, utilities, transport, health, education, finances, food, domestic violence and justice.

With multiple access points facilitated by The Salvation Army, essential service information is available for free through the download of the Affordable SA App (available at the App Store and Google Play), www.affordablesa.com.au and through the Affordable SA Helpline 1800 025 539.

The helpline service is available from 9.30am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 4.30pm Fridays (except holidays).
