Nurses and midwives at the North Eastern Community Hospital have received some long-waited Christmas cheer over back payment.
The back payments were agreed to back by the NECH back in May following an investigation by the ANMF (SA Branch) over entitlements and have finally come to fruition.
All current NECH nurses eligible for back pay should have now received a letter confirming the amount they will receive. All payments have been entered into payroll for processing in the next pay cycle - payments should be received by NECH nurses either today or tomorrow (depending on bank processing times).
All former NECH nurses who are eligible for back pay are currently receiving their letters and are required to confirm their bank details with NECH prior to payments being made.
“This is a fantastic result for our members,’’ said ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj. Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM.
“Thanks and congratulations go to the employee bargaining representatives and wider ANMF (SA Branch) membership base at NECH,’’ Ms Dabars said.
“You identified these issues, you brought them to the ANMF’s attention and you provided the evidence and information that the ANMF (SA Branch) needed in order to take action.
“This great outcome would not have been achieved if it wasn’t for ANMF (SA Branch) members.’’
The NECH assures that it is now making correct payments for:
1.
Overtime rates
2.
On-call allowance
3.
The commencement of overtime payments.
If ANMF (SA Branch) members have any questions regarding their payment letters, NECH has advised that Payroll is available to answer questions.
