Businesses keen on COVID Clean

We all know the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Education Centre (ANMEC) is the top training provider in the state – as awarded by the State Government last year – and now its COVID Clean training courses are winning plaudits in high places.

ANMEC, a service of the ANMF (SA Branch), won a contract back in June with the Department of Innovation and Skills (DIS) to educate up to 5,500 workers in COVID prevention and preparedness - employees from a broad range of vocations, including hospitality, retail, tourism, transport, logistics, security and cleaning services.

“We are proud to be recognised by the Government through winning this contract. A big point of difference between us and other training providers is that all of our educators are experienced Registered Nurses who have the expertise to teach in this area,” ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj. Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM said at the time.

The fully accredited COVID Clean course (customised for the area of business) is available through face-to-face training and as an online learning program. Employees who complete the course will be issued with a certificate to display in their workplace or include with their resume. As a fully accredited course it could be used as a credit in a large number of different qualifications.

The Minister for Innovation and Skills, David Pisoni, was recently quoted in online newspaper InDaily, saying there had already been large interest in COVID Clean and the program was essential in supporting jobs in South Australia.

“The State Government is encouraging all customer-facing businesses across the state to undertake this COVID Clean training program to ensure businesses are operating in a COVID-safe environment,” he said.

COVID Clean training is available to Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent Australian residents or eligible visa holders who are 16 years or older and not enrolled in school.
