Shared Services: Lack Of Action Prompts Legal Proceedings

17 April 2019

ANMF (SA Branch) officers met with the Department of Health and executive from Shared Services earlier this month regarding the increase in complaints and lack of timely resolution on member pay queries and disputes. At the meeting, ANMF (SA Branch) officers also advised that a recent audit had revealed that 52 nursing staff from Women’s and Children’s Hospital Network had not been receiving their professional development allowance and that members had been advised this would not be rectified until the following financial year.

The ANMF (SA Branch) pushed for a resolution of these ongoing complaints and a way forward as to how the employer was going to meet its obligations for members. An update on the matter, which provided little additional detail, was received last week from the Department of Health in conjunction with Shared Services.
Dissatisfied with the level of information provided, the ANMF (SA Branch) has engaged the Union Legal SA team to lodge a dispute on behalf of affected members. Despite raising these issues with the Department and directly with Shared Services for months, the ANMF (SA Branch) has been met with a continued lack of action and engagement from both parties.

We will continue to update members on our progress in this regard.
