Royal Commission explores link between aged and health care systems

12 December 2019

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety has arrived in Canberra this week, with topics focused on the interfaces between the aged care and health care systems, including both Commonwealth and state/territory programs. It has been examining whether older people, particularly those living in residential aged care facilities, are able to access the health services they need as they age.

SA Health CEO Dr Chris McGowan has been called to give evidence today (Thursday 12 December) and ANMF (SA Branch) member and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Peter Jenkin yesterday spoke on the value of the NP role in the aged care sector.
