Industrial action to continue as enterprise bargaining negotiations resume

8 November 2019

The ANMF and the State Government have agreed to resume enterprise bargaining discussions from next week, although State-wide industrial action by nurses and midwives will continue.

“Unless the State Government gives a clear commitment to revisiting its position on key measures including those creating a risk to the safety of staff or patients, nurses and midwives will continue to campaign on these issues in the public interest,” ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Elizabeth Dabars says.

She says it was only last week that we received the State Government's written opposition to almost every staff and patient safety measure being sought by nurses and midwives in their enterprise agreement.

“Patient and staff safety should not be up for negotiation."

The ANMF (SA Branch) will continue to keep members updated on the progress of negotiations, including at the Local Health Network stop-work rallies starting next week.
