Members in the paediatric unit at Flinders Medical Centre contacted the ANMF (SA Branch) seeking advice and support to address what they considered to be an overuse of temporary contracts by management.
The ANMF (SA Branch) was persistent in addressing the issue with Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), who has now identified permanent vacancies within the unit, which will be offered to eligible staff.
This represents a win for those staff who will soon benefit from the security of a permanent position and is also a step towards further tackling the casualisation of the nursing and midwifery workforce.
